We have chosen our girls through their vertues as each influenced our vision for Juell Collies over time. Our line found it roots in the old Parader and Tartanside lines that provided solid classic collie look along with the solid top lines and correct front/rear angulation. We sought out the Twin City line to refine our head type, providing a clean, light head, with a tighter ear placement while retaining the bright expression we love.
Liz is our Braveheart daughter and dam of Asher. She has served us well including junior handling with our niece and now has now retired and lives comfortably on our couch. Even as a veteran she she retains her natural athletic abilities typically associated with a much younger collie.
Theo came to us from Carl Williford of Twin City collies as a foundation between Twin City and Juell collies. She gave us our multiple BISS, Anna, her littermate Australia Ch. Twin City Seventh Heaven “Manisha”, and our recent boy Sonny. Theo is owner-handled major pointed.
Katie came to us from Helen Cornio of Milan collies. We got our start in collies from Helen and Katie is out of one of her absolute best girls through the years, Ch. Milen’s Have A Little Faith. She is the first collie Julie paid for herself. She has currently in whelped a litter co-breed with Valley Park Collies. The sire is Ch. Valley Park Barnstormer. We are looking forward to the results of this nicely blended pedigree.
Anna quite simply the goal we sought when we aquired Theo from Carl Williford of Twin City collies. She is and always will be a very special foundation to our breeding program. Anna has produced for our kennel, Copper, Jacqueline, Madaline, and Hope. She is our first owner handled multiple BISS winner, top 10 rough collie, and CC of A AOM. Her wins are documented on our Awards page.
Madaline is from a repeat breeding to Carl Williford’s Jackson that helped set the type we wanted by giving us multiple blues and tri’s to select from in the future. Madaline finished her championship in one season of being campained. She finished out of the bred by classes with multiple specialty majors along the way.
Jacqueline and Madaline are littermates from the second breeding between Jackson and Anna. In 2019 we concentrated on finishing Madeline and hope to accomplish the same with Jacqueline next. Jacqueline made the cut in a very large puppy class at the 2018 Collie Club of America nationals in one of her few trips into the show ring.
Hope came to us as a very large singleton puppy weighing in at 15 ounces at birth. The first picture is of Hope at 12 weeks old. The second is of Hope at 8 months old, just after her first BOV over a special. We are excited about her potiential.
